The Brightlane™ Automotive Ethernet portfolio of PHY transceivers, switches and bridges supports networks speeds from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps and the security and safety features required for today’s and tomorrow’s in-vehicle networks.
Modern vehicles are becoming data centers on wheels. Advanced emerging features such as collision detection, lane departure warnings, and autonomous driving require massive amounts of secure data processing, networking and storage.
Marvell's Automotive Ethernet PHY family of solutions support 10GBASE-T1, 5GBASE-T1, 2.5GBASE-T1, 1000BASE-T1, 100BASE-T1, 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T standards. 2.5G/5G/10GBASE-T1 single pair Ethernet PHY implement the Ethernet physical layer as defined by IEEE 802.3ch standard. 100/1000Base-T1 single pair Ethernet PHY implement the Ethernet physical layer as defined by the IEEE 802.3bw and IEEE 802.3bp standard. These are ideally suited for a wide range of automotive applications, they are manufactured using a standard digital CMOS process and contain all the active circuitry required to implement the physical layer functions to transmit and receive data on a single balanced twisted pair.
Automotive Ethernet PHY integrates media dependent interface (MDI) termination resistors into the PHY which simplifies the board layout and reduces board cost by reducing the number of external components. Also, they support an integrated voltage regulator to generate all required voltages so the device can run off a single 3.3V supply.
